peace tie-dyed slate
It took FORVER to get this to work, 4 different processes (would have been 3 but I messed one up) to make this a one of a kind item. The slate is 400-million years old, give or take a year or two, was actually around before the earliest dinosaurs and is a Metamorphosis rock made of the fusion of clay, shale and volcanic ash.
This particular piece was on the roof of the oldest barn in a New England town founded in 1704, I’m told by someone who was guessing that it had been on that barn roof, “let’s see now pretty sure at least 125 years, maybe more but then again maybe less, don’t hold me to that.” So I won’t.
You shouldn’t either.
It is 10x7 inches, weighs a pound or two, very fragile but at that age who wouldn’t be. Will come with hemp rope that you can put through the nail holes to hang it, if I can get the rope through the holes I’ll do it for you, if not…
Ships free in as much bubble wrap as I can find..
