It’s on old wood, to be honest I forget where it came from, I’m thinking from an old tear down project here in Connecticut, but don’t hold me to that. Painted with Acrylic Latex water based paint from a small paint company in Philly that makes paint the way they used to 100 or more years ago…BUT…ya need to keep this inside because if it’s outside and it rains you’ll have nothing but a wet piece of wood on your hands and Gone Fishin’ will be gone indeed. Ships Free, signed, numbered and dated.
It is written on century old wood barn board. The paint used is made by a small 5th generation paint company that produces historically accurate paint used in historical buildings all over America, and this paint on this board is accurate for the place and the time period.
Comes with 2 sawtooth clips and picture hooks if you want to hang it, this one could be stood up as well and not hung. We’re giving you some options. It is 23 inches long, almost 3 inches wide, weighs about a pound and a half. SHIPS FREE signed and numbered.
Painted on real old barn wood, 23 inches long, 5 inches wide, signed and numbered on the back, SHIPS FREE with the stuff you need to hang it on the wall.
Truly man’s best friend, especially in time of need… The sign is a century old and comes from a West Virginia barn that fell down in a snowstorm, some of the wood was salvaged, this piece being one of them, it is 13 inches long, 3 inches wide, has some red paint on it that was from inside the barn so this is an inside piece of wood. SHIPS FREE comes with hardware to help you hang it but it does stand on it’s own. Comes signed and numbered on the back.
It is a 200 year old slate from a New Hampshire barn in a town founded before the American Revolution. The paint used is made by a small 5th generation paint company that produces historically accurate paint used in historical buildings all over America, and this paint on this slate is accurate for the Colonial/Federal time period, it is as if a farmer in the early 1800’s went out and picked up a broken piece of Slate and painted the word…DREAM. This one is big 14x8 inches, about 2 pounds and is very fragile around the edges so it will be shipped to you free in a heavily cushioned Priority Mail Box.
Comes signed and numbered on the back along with a little story from me about the American Dream.
A one of one, for sure. It’s what I used to design the original Gone Fishin’ just sort of scribbled it out with paint on a sheet of white butcher paper that they use to wrap meat, so you can either buy this to frame and hang on your wall as almost art, or turn it over a wrap 3 Delmonico Steaks (I measured). It measures right now at 18x9 inches but it still can be cut down some should you have a weird frame hanging around out in the garage. Signed and dated and Numbered #1. Ships free.
I live in a cop and nurse neighborhood. Neighbors are teachers, insurance guys, and CPA’s. Nothing fancy, just a Leave it to Beaver type of street with sidewalks, big trees, cul-de-sacs and driveway hoops. Middle America within 110 homes.
The other day I got in a shipment of really cool Chestnut boards from a 115 year old barn in Kentucky that I was told, fell over. Salvaged wood, wood with character, wood with the same bumps and bruises that many of use carry with us. For the 1st piece done I wanted it to be something special, had to be to honor the wood, but I was at a loss for the words, words not only thought provoking but would also fit the space.
Last night I was out putting a garbage bag over the new, large Hibiscus that I got bb for Mother’s Day (we dipped into the low 30’s last night with snowflakes) when I heard from across the street, “Hi Don,” and when I looked up it was 2 neighbor friends of mine out for a nightly stroll.
He is a state trooper, she is an ICU nurse assigned to the COVID floor.
Both face the virus daily, both face it for us, to help us. I asked them both how they were doing, we’ve known each other for over 25 years now, so it’s a truthful answer I get back. He: “I’m okay but I worry about her…” said of his wife who only bows her head, “and you,” I say pretty much knowing the answer, “ok,” is all that comes back which means…maybe not so ok.
At times like this the best next question is no question asked at all, “It’s so tough Don, so tough never seen anything like it,” he moves closer to her, “you know Don, life matters, life matters and we are losing so many lives to this, I just don’t know.”
We talk some about that, private stuff I won’t put here, but when I came back into the house I pulled out the vinyl we’ve had for months and painted this: Life Matters because I think that was the message the universe wanted me to know, wanted me to paint.
So the first 115 year old Chestnut board says this…Life Matters…
As I was told it should be.

If Life Matters to you click this button and make a donation to the Farmington Food Bank because Food Matters too…100% of what you give will go to place food on the table for so many families here who have lost their jobs to COVID. Thank you.
So, I bought a sample of boards that allegedly came from a tractor barn in the midwest, I say allegedly because I don’t really know the person who sold them to me, just his story. He told me that his grandfather had built the structure during the 1920 as a “temporary” place to park farm tractors but the winter of 2018 was to much for it. Sounds believable but I don’t want you buying something that I can’t prove what it is or it’s age.
So as I waited for the shipment to get here I reached out to the people who make our forms and told them I had wood coming on from the 1920’s, the Roaring Twenties, and since that was basically the birth of the Art Deco style could they make a form where the words would match the Art Deco time period…and here we go.
I’m sure most of you don’t know that I have a thing, A THING, about fonts (yeah weird) and I spend an inordinate amount of time looking at letters, their shape and style. I like this font, don’t dig the “L” that much but if/when bb and I get the machine that can cut this stuff ourselves I have sketched out some “Art Deco-ish” letter that run more to the subclass of “Streamline.” that I will be really excited about.
But I do like this, it’s very different from all the other fonts we use, so give it a shot.
Ships Free and, if I remember, comes with all the stuff you need to hang it with but it does stand up on its own if I forgot.
Ok, in the 3 Bigfoot hunts I’ve been on I’ve never seen the Big One catch a fish so I’m not sure if that’s a spinning or bait casting setup he’s using. Scientifically if this sticker were to scale, and it’s not it’s only 5 inches tall, but if I’d happen to snap a photo of Bigfoot bringing his catch back to clean and possibly grill with you know asparagus, some carrots, sprigs of basil and some nice creamy sauce, at scale with the average Bigfoot angler being about 8 feet tall and weighing 800-1,000 pounds that fish he’s bringing home for possibly a fish fry with his family, would be like 3 feet long and close to 30 pounds, if my Bigfoot to Human math is correct. I have a few of these decals, I had more but I put a couple of them on the preferred truck of Bigfoots everywhere, Tundra, so grab them quick. Ships Free
Oh, and BTW…Bigfoot is on your spot, right now.
It took FORVER to get this to work, 4 different processes (would have been 3 but I messed one up) to make this a one of a kind item. The slate is 400-million years old, give or take a year or two, was actually around before the earliest dinosaurs and is a Metamorphosis rock made of the fusion of clay, shale and volcanic ash.
This particular piece was on the roof of the oldest barn in a New England town founded in 1704, I’m told by someone who was guessing that it had been on that barn roof, “let’s see now pretty sure at least 125 years, maybe more but then again maybe less, don’t hold me to that.” So I won’t.
You shouldn’t either.
It is 10x7 inches, weighs a pound or two, very fragile but at that age who wouldn’t be. Will come with hemp rope that you can put through the nail holes to hang it, if I can get the rope through the holes I’ll do it for you, if not…
Ships free in as much bubble wrap as I can find..
Not only can’t I remember what day it is, I don’t know what MONTH it is. Can never find my keys either, sometimes call one of the kids, “Riley,” our dog, walk into a room and not know why. Those of you who know exactly what I’m talking about will buy this sign, all the young folks…I have some in storage for when your time comes…and it will. Comes from a real old barn somewhere, might have been on the inside of it, or not. They told me something cool about it, but…
24 inches by 4 inches or so.
SHIPS FREE AND WITH THE STUFF TO HANG IT…IF I REMEMBER TO PUT IT IN THE BOX
Almost 24 inches long by about 5 inches wide. About 50-75 years old from West Virginia tool shed, fairly heavy, got’s some nail holes and character, paint job sort of looks like some kind of pizzed off fish. ships free and comes with the stuff to hang it…if I remember to stick them in the box.

Cheaper than the unsigned one because I think it ruins it when I scribble “db” on anything. SHIPS FREE
